“Fashion is something that goes in one year and out the other.” – Denise Klahn

Everyone knows that fashions change. Every season there’s a new look, and so it’s no surprise that many people just give up and stick with the “jeans and t-shirt”, safe outfit. That’s why Today’s Teen is here! In this article, we’ve listed the first two trends we’ll see in this back-to-school season.

Print Bottoms

No, don’t go tattooing your butt – one of this season’s hottest looks is printed skirts, jeans, and tights. It’s a trend to approach with caution, as it will be easy to over-do this look. When it comes to big patterns, remember: less is more!

Bohemian. Look 1.

The first look has a bohemian, casual feel that would be perfect for a long day sitting in class followed by an afternoon with the girls.

Floral pants ($25), Denim top (38 Euros), Heart belt ($24), Oxfords ($30)

Classic. Look 2.

The second outfit is a more classic, vintage look that is dressy enough for a date or dinner.

Floral leggings ($25), Dress ($25), Kitten heels ($23)

Back-to-School. Look 3.

The last look has a back-to-school feel with a fun and colorful twist.

Tiered skirt ($30), Blouse ($40), Knee-high socks ($14), Red oxfords ($38)

Military

The military look comes and goes frequently, but this season it seems to be everywhere! This is an easy look to grab because so many lower-priced stores are carrying it (ex. Delia*s, Wet Seal, Alloy).

Basic. Look 1.

The first look has a typical military feel, yet is given an edge with its fun, pink colors.

Military jacket ($62), Cargo pants ($50), Whistle necklace ($16), Dr. Marten’s boots ($115)

Army Feel. Look 2.

For the second look, I tried to convey a vintage, WW2 army feel. It has more classic lines, and isn’t that belted pouch awesome?

Dress ($25), Pouch belt ($30), Military hat ($16), Boots ($60)

Casual Cadet

The third look as a very wearable feel. Its touch of military is enough to complete the look without looking like you signed up for boot camp.

Faux leather jacket ($36), Cropped top ($20), Brown skirt ($18),Taupe Converse ($86)

Which trend would you wear? Which outfit was your favorite? Is there a piece you already have that would work with this look? Let me know!
