Elaine Carroll, the creator of the series, portrays Mary Kate Olsen, who frequently dresses as if being a bag lady were fashionable.

As a wealthy airhead that looks at pictures of bagels for meals, steals drugs from children’s hospitals (she can’t handle grown-up Oxycotin—“it tastes like chalk”), Mary-Kate decides she needs her indepence! So, of course, she decides to try living independently from her sister, Ashley.

As a result, her sister (also played by Carroll) is always there to provide help with common sense and blimp parties to cheer her up.

Another character that is constantly in MK’s life is her bodyguard, aptly named “Bodyguard.” He looks like “a James Franco, Hercules, hot bodyguard” who is like a “brotherguard” to MK. In short, he’s the tether to reality that is often abused by her idiotic demands.

A badly toupee’d and creepy Philip Seymour Hoffman parody also makes appearances to help develop her acting chops and the pleasure…is all his.

When MK decides to go back to school, she meets an NYU professor that doesn’t accept MK Bucks or Wikipedia pages for papers—this guy is serious (seriously crazy! Those MK bucks are worth a thousand bucks!).

Each webisode is about a minute long, but is packed with satire and perfect comedic timing. The plots are, for the most part, centered on MK’s random path to independence and growth. She goes through problems that anyone can relate to: dating, wanting a baby, crashing blimps, taking drugs, and serious backstabbing by her sister and brotherguard! She’s, like, just an ordinary person trying to make it in life with a lot of help from her sister, bodyguard, and a bunch of pills.

The series is on Verymarykate.com and can also be seen on her vimeo account: Mary-Kate Olsen. She also has a twitter, verymarykate. Carroll never drops the MK persona on these sites, so it makes for a hilarious read. She also wrote a blog explaining her vlog. Check it out here!

As stated on her website, she’s gone to Cabo for a few weeks, so she’s been on hiatus. This gives you plenty of time to catch up with MK, Ashley, and Bodyguard. But, like, don’t watch all of them at once, ’cause, you know, it’ll make you want a bagelguard. Ew.
