In the beginning of The Vampire Academy Series, written by Richelle Mead, we are introduced to, two friends: Lissa Dragomir, the last of her royal bloodline, and Rose Hathaway, a guardian with much potential. They’re both trying to find their way in this complex world of vampires. Along the way, they meet a nemesis that almost takes Lissa’s life.

The Drama: Rose has a forbidden love for her instructor– Lissa falls for an unworthy candidate– Rose watches her friend die–there is an attack on the school that takes her forbidden lover, Dimitri, into the world of the Strigoi!

Now in this riveting fifth addition, Spirit Bound, Rose Hathaway is back in the world that she left after failing to kill Dimitri. She must choose between the old flame that has been sending her death threats and the new guy whom she can’t give her whole heart to. There is a chance that she may be able to turn Dimitri back into the man he once was, but that means putting her best friend in the line of fire.

Full of tension—sexual and otherwise—this book was the most riveting and thrilling story I have read since Twilight. With its tantalizing story line and complex characters I was crying when they cried and screaming when they screamed. It was satisfying in every way imaginable. Let’s just say I will be the first one in line for the conclusion to the series when it goes on sale December 7, 2010.
